Thirty sites, one crew

Wrecks, amphora fields, canyons, caves and sea-grass meadows in the Kaş-Kekova marine reserve. Turtles most days. Water from 19 to 29 °C, all year.

The long table

Every evening ends on the harbour. By Wednesday nobody is a stranger. By Saturday you have a crew in four countries.

The Luca lands

The Greeks called Lycia the Luca lands. LUCA is also the last universal common ancestor of all life, which began in the sea. Both are true here.

How it works

Tell us who you are.
Certification, logged dives, what you dive for, what you're after this year. Five minutes. Birth date optional, for the story.

We assemble the cohort.
Experience first, always. Then age, language, temperament and a little astrology. A human makes the final call.

You meet before you land.
One email introduces the cohort a week out. You arrive in Kaş already curious about each other.

Dragoman runs the dives.
Since 2002, SSI Diamond centre, a 21 m dive boat, seven instructors. You book and pay the dive centre directly.

Nine of you land in Kaş next Saturday. Tomás has dived more wrecks than the rest of you combined and will not say so. Hanne and Piet have been diving together since 1989 and once got lost in Bonaire on purpose. Yuki has 22 dives and better buoyancy than half the instructors. Deniz will name every fish, ask her about the lionfish. Ingrid brought a drysuit; there is a bet on whether she wears it. Mara is shooting a series on hands underwater, offer yours. Sam free-dives at lunch. Luca is here because of the name and stayed for the boat. Dinner Saturday at eight, on the harbour, long table, no agenda.

Season May to October. Kaş cohorts first; a no-profit prototype to Dakar in November for seven strangers who like a wreck and an experiment. Nothing is charged here. We write back within a week.
